Salary: $47,448 - $68,809 depending on qualifications Major Duties: Serves as an attorney-adviser to the Administrative Law Judges (ALJs) in a Social Security Administration (SSA) Hearing Office (HO). Renders professional legal advice and assistance to the ALJs in prehearing development and preparation of cases for hearing. Analyzes, researches and develops cases, formulates comprehensive decisions and, otherwise, acts on requests for hearings held under the Social Security Act, as amended. Key Requirements: • US Citizenship is required. • Background and/or Security Investigation required. • Selective Service registration required for male applicants, unless exempt. • Proof of graduation from a law school accredited by the American Bar Association and a member in good standing of a state, territory of the United States, District of Columbia, or Commonwealth of Puerto Rico bar. • Writing sample required.
